Primarily a rock band, the girls fuse elements of grunge and soul to create a very distinctive sound. Combined with the fact the band has two lead singers, with two definitive songwriting styles, there is nothing about this band which fits a mould or complies to the status quo.
Most strikingly, the girls have a strong, underlying purpose which fuels their mission: changing perceptions of women in music. And they certainly do; screaming, sweating and shredding solos, these girls are redefining what is means to be a girl in a band.
So what does that mean? That there is no gender difference. Except, perhaps they’re a little bit better…
